Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “Yemen: Taiz residents continue to suffer under siege despite truce” – below is their description.
Reopening blocked roads and supply routes is part of the United Nations-brokered truce deal, in place since April, between Yemen’s warring sides.
But the Houthi rebels’ siege of Taiz continues, compounding the misery of those stuck inside the city.
Road closures have left thousands of people with little access to medicine, proper medical services and international aid.
The blockade imposed by Houthi rebels in 2016 has essentially closed off the main routes that lead to the city, making an already dire humanitarian crisis worse.
Al Jazeera’s Katia Lopez-Hodayan reports.
