Chinese President Xi Jinping recently signed two presidential orders. One is a law on prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid waste, which will take effect on September 1. The other is on the appointment of Tang Yijun as the new minister of justice, and Huang Runqiu as the new minister of ecology and environment. Both decisions were approved by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, which just concluded its session.
