The world’s tallest power transmission tower, with a height of 385 meters, was capped on Wednesday in east China’s Jiangsu Province, which is the crucial part of the 500-kv power transmission project spanning the Yangtze River, the country’s longest waterway. As the most technically difficult 500-kv cross-river network transmission project in the history of China’s power construction, the project spans from Fengcheng County to Meili County of the province, connecting two 500-kv transformer substations in the two regions. Over 178 kilometers of 500-kv lines will be built or renovated, among which the section spanning the Yangtze River measures up to 2,550 meters.
