World War Two sunken RAF bomber aircraft found off the coast of Italy

The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “World War Two sunken RAF bomber aircraft found off the coast of Italy” – below is their description.

Dogged detective work by historians and divers has uncovered the poignant story of a young RAF crew whose bomber crash landed in the Mediterranean 80 years ago.

It took a team of enthusiasts six years to piece together the story of the aircraft, which has been identified as a Martin Baltimore, crewed by a mix of British, Canadian and Australian personnel.

Thousands were made during the war but they were mostly scrapped at the end of hostilities, meaning that the one of the seabed is one of the best preserved in the world.
