CGTN published this video item, entitled “World leaders address General Assembly starting Monday” – below is their description.
For more: https://www.cgtn.com/video The United Nations General Assembly will be a virtual gathering in New York, marking the #UN’s 75th anniversary. Heads of state and government are addressing the session via video instead of in-person – a first in UN history – because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In recent years, the UN and its founding principles are under threat with the rise of unilateralism, protectionism and in no small part, troubles with the pandemic. In a declaration adopted at the meeting, the UN vowed to strengthen its three pillars: peace and security, development and human rights. Chinese President Xi Jinping addressed the meeting, calling on all countries to stick to multilateralism, and give equal weight to the voice of the developing world. In what areas can #China make a big difference?
