World facing climate catastrophe and ‘falling short’ of targets, says UN report | ITV News

ITV News published this video item, entitled “World facing climate catastrophe and ‘falling short’ of targets, says UN report | ITV News” – below is their description.

World leaders who’ll be heading to the Glasgow summit were given this warning from the head of the United Nations; Antonio Gueterres: if you don’t stand up and take charge we are heading for terrible human suffering.

And the magnitude of what needs to be done looks bigger than ever after new UN stats.

They show that on current international promises, we are heading for a global temperature rise of 2.7 degrees this century, not the 1.5 degrees that avoids the worst excesses of extreme weather.

  1. This falls short of correct, unbiased and thoughtful information to be given to us poor, ‘mortal’ readers. I can understand the seriousness of the climate problem, but there is a lot fakenes in what is being stated by the U.N. itself. The climate problem is huge…..real huge….but this does NOT justify not promoting open debates between the U.N. and the people of this planet, yes, with less ‘leaders’ and fake summits. We need a change and we need it NOW !
