Women shot dead in Panania, found in Revesby, burnt vehicles found in Yagoona, Moorebank & Revesby

7NEWS Australia published this video item, entitled “Women shot dead in Panania, found in Revesby, burnt vehicles found in Yagoona, Moorebank & Revesby” – below is their description.

Police believe last night’s double murder in Sydney was a planned and targeted attack that occurred on Hendy Avenue Panania, before coming to a deadly end on Weston Street Revesby.

Two women, aged 48 and 36-years-old, were killed when their car was shot at. Two additional passengers in the car, a 16-year-old girl and a 20-year-old man, were ‘shaken’, but uninjured, say police.

NSW Police’s Homicide Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty, says the 48-year-old woman appeared to be the main target in the attack, and she was ‘well known to police.”

Police have established additional crime scenes at Presland Avenue Revesby, Elizabeth Avenue Yagoona and Anzac Road Moorebank where burnt out vehicles were discovered after the shooting.

Detectives don’t yet know if this shooting is related to the recent gangland shootings that have occurred across Sydney.

“There used to be an unwritten law with the criminal element – especially in the organised criminal element – that you don’t touch family, you don’t touch women. I think that rule of engagement, that law book, has been thrown out the window” – NSW Police’s Homicide Squad Commander, Detective Superintendent Danny Doherty.
