The ‘golden girl’ of Australian racing has been cast in bronze.

A larger-than-life statue of wonder mare ‘Winx’ and jockey Hugh Bowman is now greeting racegoers at Rosehill Racecourse.

It is the latest honour for the horse that broke the mould. Sculptor Tanya Bartlett and Channel 7 commentator Bruce McAvaney spoke to 7NEWS reporter Paul Kadak.
