With the war between Russia and Ukraine now past the 100-day mark, the battle for control of a key city in eastern Ukraine continues. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen made a surprise visit to Kyiv last week and promised to finalize whether the EU will grant Ukraine candidate status. What would “candidate status” mean to those fighting in Ukraine? What is the end game for the war? To explore these questions and more, CGTN talked to Joav Toker from the American Graduate School in Paris, Mark Sleboda, a Moscow-based international affairs and security analyst, and Harvey Dzodin, a senior fellow of the Center for China and Globalization.
