Cherry growers are warning that consumers may have to pay more for the fruit this Christmas as unseasonably heavy and widespread rain wreaks havoc in several growing regions.
Too much rain while cherries are ripening can cause the fruit to split and crack making the crop not worth picking.
President of the Victorian Cherry Association Alison Jones explains the losses farmers will face.
