The Leizhou Peninsula is one of the few places in south China’s Guangdong Province where the Stone Dog is the patron saint. In the Qin and Han Dynasties, there was a tribe called Panhuman living here. They worshipped the dog totem, believing that the dog god was the ancestor of the guardian tribe.
