This has been a scorching hot summer for northern countries, including China. Since July, many parts of China have witnessed temperatures in some places breaking records. According to the World Weather Attribution group, the current level of global warming has made heatwaves 30 times more likely. That makes climate action far more urgent. But, in the meantime, U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Taiwan visit has led to the suspension of China-U.S. talks on climate change. How will it affect China’s progress towards its green development goals?
