While ministers here admit there will be some bumps on the road to getting jabs to those most in need, the rollout has gone a lot smoother than in the European Union – or what we used to call the rest of the European Union.
In the UK the number of vaccinations given so far is 4.52 per one hundred people.
That’s well ahead of other major European countries, such as Italy’s 1.47 and Germany’s 0.9.
