Why Emily Townsend left News Corp, accusing it of bias on climate change | Hot Mess

In the midst of the bushfires earlier this year, Emily Townsend, a former commercial finance manager in News Corp’s Group Finance division, sent an all-staff email in which she accused News Corp papers, including The Australian, the Daily Telegraph and the Herald Sun, of misrepresenting facts and spreading misinformation to focus on arson as the cause of the bushfires, rather than climate change.
News Corp issued a statement at the time, stating it stood by its coverage of the bushfires and that it reflected a variety of views and opinions about the fire crisis.
Emily Townsend spoke to Richard Aedy as part of a four-part series on ABC Radio National called ‘Hot Mess: why we’ve failed to fix climate change’. https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/hot-mess/
