The Taliban has promised China it won’t allow anyone to use Afghan soil to hurt Beijing’s interests during high profile talks in the country. Raffaello Pantucci, Senior fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore, tells The World China is “incredibly influential” in and around Afghanistan, and “they have to have a relationship” with The Taliban.
