Speaking at a regular briefing on Friday, WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus urged rich countries “to reconsider” vaccinating children and adolescents and to “instead donate vaccines to COVAX.” He noted that at present, only 0.3 percent of vaccine supply is going to low-income countries, adding that “trickle down vaccination is not an effective strategy for fighting a deadly respiratory virus.”
