    The World Health Organization has welcomed the first weekly decline in newly reported COVID-19 cases globally since September. Director general Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said it was clear measures in hard-hit Europe were taking effect. However, the health agency warned people not to let their guard down during the upcoming holiday season.
