Burnley Football Club has condemned an airplane banner reading “White Lives Matter Burnley” that was flown over Manchester’s Etihad Stadium during a match against Manchester City on June 22.
Video taken from below shows the banner, towed by an airplane, soaring above the city.
The Burnley Football Club strongly condemned the banner, writing: “This, in no way, represents what Burnley Football Club stands for and we will work fully with the authorities to identify those responsible and issue lifetime bans.”
The U.K.’s Telegraph on Tuesday reported the pilot is facing a police investigation after players and campaigners condemned the banner.
