The White House has sought to clarify the US President’s comments on Russia’s actions against Ukraine. In a statement, press secretary Jen Psaki said if any Russian military forces move across Ukraine’s border, they will be met with a “swift, severe, and united response” from the United States and its allies. Global affairs analyst Michael Bociurkiw says it’s a confusing and chaotic act of diplomacy from western countries.
