White House provides update on Biden’s health after positive COVID diagnosis | LIVE

Global News published this video item, entitled “White House provides update on Biden’s health after positive COVID diagnosis | LIVE” – below is their description.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre and COVID-19 coordinator Dr. Ashish Jha are expected to hold a news briefing on Friday regarding U.S. President Joe Biden’s health conditions after he tested positive for COVID-19 and mounted a temperature of 37.4 degrees C overnight.

In a statement released by the president’s personal physician Kevin C. O’Connor, it was indicated that Biden had completed his first full day of PAXLOVID, which improved his symptoms. Acetaminophen (Tylenol) was also used to treat his temperature, which has remained normal since then.

In a statement on Thursday, Jean-Pierre said that “consistent with CDC guidelines, he will isolate at the White House and will continue to carry out all of his duties fully during that time.”

Dr. Jha added that 79-year-old Biden’s mild symptoms can be attributed to being fully vaccinated and having received two booster shots.

Biden is not the first world leader or the first U.S. president to get COVID-19, which has infected Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emmanuel Macron and more than a dozen other leaders and high-ranking officials globally.
