President Joe Biden asked the Centers for the Disease Control and Prevention to consider another extension of an evictions moratorium, but the agency’s leaders haven’t been able to legally justify it, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said.

Biden made the request Sunday, after a ban on evictions the CDC imposed during the pandemic expired the day before.
