Peter Kuznick, professor of history and director of the Nuclear Studies Institute at American University, said the U.S. should be thinking about easing sanctions against the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) and having incremental, step-by-step negotiations instead of an all-at-once kind of approach. He noted that Gregory Meeks, the new head of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, supports a peace agreement, which is a little bit of a step forward.
