IN THE PRESS – Friday, October 30, 2020: France is reeling from the deadly terrorist attack on a church in Nice, less than two weeks after the beheading of a French history teacher. Papers in France, Germany and Saudi Arabia say anti-French sentiment stoked by Turkey’s Erdogan is at least partially to blame. But Turkish media, along with several Western papers, are critical of Emmanuel Macron’s policies, which they say are alienating Muslims. With a second coronavirus lockdown also weighing heavy on the national mood, Catholic paper La Croix tells readers to “hang in there”.
