What was it like as a photographer capturing the pandemic on film?

Behind China’s efforts to flatten the curve of transmissions lie the sacrifices of thousands of doctors, nurses and other medical workers whose names we will never know. To ensure they are never forgotten, a team of Chinese photographers traveled to the then epicenter of the epidemic in China to take pictures of more than 42,000 of these “angels.” What was it like as a photographer to capture the epidemic? What stories did they hear from the medical workers they shot? And how is China’s central city recovering from the epidemic?
