It is the first official visit by an Israeli Prime Minister to Egypt in more than a decade.

Naftali Bennett’s trip to Sharm El Sheikh signals a warming in relations between the two countries.

They signed a peace treaty in 1979.

Bennett said his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has created a foundation for deep ties in the future.

The two also discussed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

Egypt said ways to revive the peace process in the Middle East, were high on the agenda.

But beyond their countries’ ties what can El Sisi offer on regional issues?
