  • Global News published this video item, entitled “Whale of a tale: US diver survives nearly being swallowed by humpback whale” – below is their description.

Commercial lobster diver Michael Packard from Massachusetts is still recovering at home, after a fluke encounter at sea saw him nearly eaten by a humpback whale.

Packard suddenly found himself in the whale’s mouth last week while diving, only for the large mammal to spit him back out after a few minutes.

Mike Armstrong explains how Packard managed to live to tell the tale, and looks at some other close calls with these gentle giants throughout the years.
