Whale Rescue: A Sea World crew has successfully freed a whale that was tangled in fishing debris off Broadbeach.
The mammal is expected to make a full recovery from the ordeal, which lasted several hours as the crew worked tirelessly to remove the netting.
“It’s not pleasant for the animal, but the only option for us is to try and tire him out.” – Head of Marine Sciences for Sea World, Wayne Phillips.
