After it became apparent that Joe Biden had won the US presidential election on November 7, 2020, congratulations began to pour in from world leaders. Leaders in the UK, European Union, Japan, South Korea were among those congratulating Biden and vice-president-elect Kamala Harris. But as of November 8, China and Russia had not yet reacted.

It’s equally known for its green, hilly countryside dotted with cherry trees and centuries-old Buddhist temples, plus its coastal fishing villages, sub-tropical islands and high-tech cities such as Seoul, the capital.
