The US Vice President Kamala Harris says the American people must step up to defend their country’s democracy.
Speaking a year after the insurrection on Washington’s Capitol building, she described how her staff had to use filing cabinets to barricade themselves inside their offices for safety.
She said January 6 represented both the fragility and strength of democracy.
