RT published this video item, entitled “Water cannon & tear gas | Protests at anniversary of indigenous activist’s killing in Chile” – below is their description.
Police officers used tear gas and water cannon as they tried to disperse protesters gathered to mark the 13th anniversary of the police killing of a Mapuche student activist in Santiago, Chile. Demonstrators were also bashing police vehicles with shields and other objects. Matias Catrileo was a 23-year-old member of the indigenous Mapuche community, who was shot dead by police while participating, with other indigenous activists, in the occupation of an estate belonging to Jorge Luchsinger, a Chilean landowner.
