The Telegraph published this video item, entitled “Watch again: Boris Johnson debates new AUKUS security pact with MPs in Parliament” – below is their description.
Watch as Prime Minister Boris Johnson addresses MPs in the House of Commons about the newly announced Aukus pact.
The security pact between the US, the UK and Australia, which will also cover AI and other technologies, is one of the countries’ biggest defence partnerships in decades, according to analysts.
Mr Johnson stressed to MPs that new pact “is not intended to be adversarial with any power” in response to questions about China.
It demonstrates “the sheer level of trust between us”, which enables the three countries to share nuclear technology, in a move he described as “extraordinary”.
The nations also have a shared interest in promoting democracy and freedom of trade around the world, the Prime Minister said.
