The government gave its daily update on Covid-19 from Downing Street as anger mounts over the UK’s struggles in testing people for the virus.
Business Secretary Alok Sharma faced questions amid warnings that nearly a fifth of all small and medium-sized businesses are likely to go bust.
He said that, from today, businesses will start benefiting from £22 billion in business rate relief and grants for up to £25,000.
