The United States is unilaterally claiming that all UN sanctions on Iran are back in force. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said this just hours ago in a statement. He also threatened punishments for those who violate them.
The move is expected to have little international support. Last month, the UN Security Council rejected a bid by Washington to bring back the sanctions. France, Germany and the UK said Friday any U.S. action taken to achieve that goal would have no legal effect.
