If you’re not a tech guru or hardware savant, there’s a good chance you’ve never heard of Huaqiangbei. Nestled in the heart of China’s Silicon Valley city of Shenzhen, Huaqiangbei is often referred to as the hardware capital of the world.
From semiconductors and chips, to phone parts and batteries, nearly anything related to technology and the consumer products we use on a daily basis can be found here. Vendors, not only from Shenzhen but also other parts of China, have long made their way to Huaqiangbei for all of their own hardware needs and also to kickstart a business.
CGTN reporter Omar Khan takes a look at what floor after floor of hardware components and parts looks like as Shenzhen’ and China’s economies continue to get back on their feet.
