The Victorian Government has announced a coronavirus business support package worth about $3 billion, which Premier Daniel Andrews calls the “biggest package of business support” the state has ever seen. Victoria has recorded 41 new cases of COVID-19 and seven deaths since yesterday, six of which are linked to aged care outbreaks. Police have arrested a number of people during the second day of illegal anti-lockdown demonstrations in Melbourne. A heavy police presence met protesters chanting “freedom” at the Queen Victoria Market in Melbourne’s CBD. Oxford University has announced it will resume a trial for a coronavirus vaccine it is developing with pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca after getting the green light from safety watchdogs. The late-stage trials of the experimental vaccine were suspended last week following a reported side-effect in a UK patient. In a statement, the university confirmed the restart across all of its UK clinical trial sites. NSW records nine new cases, of the nine new cases to 8pm last night: Four are returned overseas travellers in hotel quarantine One is locally acquired and under investigation Four are locally acquired and linked to a known case or cluster No new coronavirus cases in Queensland. The Queensland Premier announced there had been no new cases recorded over the past 24 hours.
