The viral clip is being shared widely, with many wrongly reporting that it shows a father sending his daughter off as he stays to fight in Ukraine following Russia’s announcement of military action.
The footage, however, was actually filmed when breakaway region leaders advised evacuation from the Donbass, with the mayor of Gorlovka, in Donetsk, tweeting the video of the young girl being sent to Russia to seek refuge rather than fleeing their forces.
