There have been violent and chaotic scenes at Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium as fans invaded the pitch to protest against the club’s American owners.

It led to one of the Premier League’s biggest games of the season, against Liverpool, being called off.

Outside the ground supporters faced off against the police. Two officers were injured.

The fans accuse the Glazer family who bought the club in 2005 of piling up huge debts. They’re also angry at the attempt of the owners to form and join a new breakaway European Super League.
