    Chinese President Xi Jinping announced China’s eradication of extreme poverty at a national commendation conference held in Beijing on Thursday.

    To obtain this remarkable achievement in human history, a great number of frontline village officials contributed to this effort. Zhao Jie, “first Party secretary” of Youkake Airike Village, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of northwest China is among these heroes.
