Newly released body camera footage shows the dramatic rescue of a woman who was trapped in her car after it broke through ice on a frozen pond in the US state of Wisconsin. The December 22, 2022, incident happened during a winter blizzard when the motorist reportedly lost control of the vehicle in the city of Milwaukee. The video shows police and firefighters trying to reach the woman on a night when the wind chill temperature was minus 22 degrees Celsius (-8°F). Officers broke windows and pulled the woman from a car that was filling with freezing water that reached up to her chest by the time rescuers arrived.
