U.S. President Donald Trump, First Lady Melania Trump and Vice-President Mike Pence gathered at Arlington National Cemetery to observe Veterans Day and to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The ceremony pays tribute to those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces and those who have lost their lives, and was the 67th Annual National Veterans Day Observance. While in year’s past the Veterans Day wreath-laying ceremony would draw thousands of people, this year’s event was closed to the public and modified to ensure public health guidelines due to the novel coronavirus pandemic. The event marked one of the first public appearances for Trump since Joe Biden was declared president-elect.
