Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro has said that he will sit down for talks with opposition leader Juan Guaido, with the Norwegian government expected to mediate the exchange. The talks between the two opponents would be the first since 2019, when Guaido declared himself interim president. With Venezuela plunged in a crippling economic crisis, Maduro has lately shown signs of easing his grip on opposition figures.
