President Nicolas Maduro says the United States represents “the most serious threat facing” a multipolar world as Venezuela’s economy reels from the US sanctions imposed on his country. Maduro made the remarks during his virtual address to the United Nations General Assembly. He is facing renewed scrutiny following a recent UN report accusing him and his cabinet of crimes against humanity. The US-backed opposition leader Juan Guido said world leaders should take action against Maduro in a live address on social media. Al Jazeera’s Manuel Rapalo reports. –
