A little more than a year ago, Venezuela’s President Nicolas Maduro’s political survival seemed to be hanging by a thread.
Now, in the lead-up to legislative elections, leading opposition parties are boycotting the polls.
This will make it likely that Maduro will reclaim the only state institution he does not control, the National Assembly.
