    Two American and one British-born scientist won the 2020 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine for work in identifying the Hepatitis C virus, which causes cirrhosis and liver cancer, the award-giving body said on Monday. The work of Americans Harvey Alter and Charles Rice, and Briton Michael Houghton was honoured in Stockholm. The prize is especially significant this year, as the world grapples with the coronavirus pandemic. To discuss this we are joined by Doctor Gilbert Thompson in London. He is author of the book, Nobel Prizes that Changed Medicine and is an emeritus professor at Imperial College London. Doctor Gilbert Thompson. –
