Us to follow germany in sending tanks to ukraine - bbc news

BBC News published this video item, entitled “US to follow Germany in sending tanks to Ukraine – BBC News” – below is their description.

US President Joe Biden has said his country will send 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.

Mr Biden said the number of tanks is the equivalent of one Ukrainian battalion, on the recommendation of US Secretary of Defence Lloyd Austin.

He said these are “the most capable tanks in the world”.

The president said that  the aid is being used to help Ukraine defend and protect its land, adding “there is no offensive threat to Russia”.

Russia’s ambassador in Washington earlier warned that any deliveries of US tanks would amount to a “blatant provocation against the Russian Federation”.
