South China Morning Post published this video item, entitled “US President Joe Biden says US military will defend Taiwan if attacked” – below is their description.

US President Joe Biden said he is committed to militarily defend Taiwan. But a White House official later downplayed the comment saying, “Our policy has not changed.” Biden made the remarks at a press conference in Japan on May 23, 2022, after he was asked if the US was willing to go further to defend the self-ruled island than it has done with Ukraine. Biden replied, “Yes, that’s the commitment we made”. China has hit back, warning the US to be “careful with your words”.
