    US President Joe Biden has slapped sanctions on top Russian officials for the poisoning of opposition leader Alexey Navalny.

    In office for only six weeks, this is Biden’s first big move against the government of Vladimir Putin.

    The measures follow similar sanctions imposed by the European Union.
