Almost eight years ago, Russia annexed the Crimea Peninsula and today, Russian military readiness continues to increase near the border with Ukraine.

But, it’s not just the United States that is pledging a harsh response if Russia invades Ukraine.

Washington’s European allies are also presenting a united front after meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken in Germany.

Al Jazeera’s Dominic Kane reports from Berlin, where ministers are calling on Moscow to de-escalate the situation.
