  • Al Jazeera English published this video item, entitled “US election: Brazil & Mexico yet to congratulate Joe Biden” – below is their description.

The presidents of Latin America’s two largest countries have held back from congratulating Joe Biden for winning the US presidential race. Brazil’s president Jair Bolsonaro has already issued a challenge to the president-elect, threatening him with retaliation if Biden made good on threats to Bolsonaro over the fires in the Amazon. Mexico’s Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador said it was a question of principle: He did not want to meddle in the US’s internal politics and would wait until all legal disputes were resolved. Al Jazeera’s Monica Yanakiew reports from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. –
