In the United States, the Republican party is seeing a major shakeup after congresswoman Liz Cheney, daughter of former vice president Dick Cheney, was booted out of her role as chair of the House Republican Conference.

The ousting comes after party leaders turned on Cheney, for blasting former president Donald Trump’s false claims about election fraud, and his role in the January 6th riot at the U.S. Capitol.

As Jennifer Johnson reports, the Republican party’s future is now in question, as Trump’s influence lingers on.
